Calling For Christ

Think all major league umpires are old, crusty guys? Check out Ted Barrett and Rob Drake, two veteran major league umps, who have started a ministry called "Calling for Christ". Through retreats, on line Bible Studies, and encouragement, they are working with other umpires, mostly minor leaguers, to help them become spiritually grounded. Barrett is an ex-boxer with a seminary degree, and Drake is a Christian who writes a daily blog here. Face to Face is proud to be a partner ministry with these two men of God.

Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow

Watch for a new sponsor on this year's Super Bowl. Focus on the Family will air a spot featuring University of Florida quarterback, and 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow. The 30 second spot will feature Tebow and his mother talking about the importance of family values. Though the actual content of the spot is unknown, Tebow's mother did carry Tim to full pregnancy as a missionary in the Phillipines, after being advised to terminate the pregnancy because of the risk to her life. ASuper Bowl ad of that length is reported to cost between $2.5 and $2.8 million dollars.
